2L Publishing:The New Harlem Renaissance
2L Publishing was founded by two high school English teachers who were for years, closet writers. The goal for the publishing company is to provide a space for an array of “mold breaking” creative people to get their work published and reviewed. The first project which was published in November, 2009 is called Cherries and Chocolate: Women of Color Speak, Volume 1. It is an anthology with works featured by five writers (including 2L’s CEOs Lonice Eversley and LaShaune Stitt-Clemons.) There are other projects in the pike including an action/adventure novel about a Black married couple who are Federal Assassins; a travel guide which highlights places of historical significance for Black people who are traveling through France, and Volume 2 of the Cherries and Chocolate Anthology series.
